How does one remember everyone that your meet. Well I can tell you from my experience that your not going to. I have tens of thousands of people that I’ve met in my years of business, its impossible for me to remember everyone that I’ve come in contact with. What you want to try to do though is you want to try to remember everyone’s name as you come across meeting them. For example if I’m meeting Bob I might say Hi Bob it’s nice to meet you, so tell me Bob whats new with you? and then dont keep saying their name, that will sound crazy, but you definitely want to say their name a couple of times, register it in your memory and then really stay focused and in the moment. That will help you remember that persons name.

Another important part of remembering everyone you have met is having some basic technology in your office to help you. Many years ago we purchased a cardscan device. Its a basic device where you take the cards that you get at these networking functions and you put them right into your computer. What it does is it gives you their business card, it gives you the notes you’ve written about them on the card and it helps you remember them. Then as you meet them again you know you have their picture, their card, whatever it might be your database. It will be much more comfortable to follow with them with some basic technology like a card scan device.
